This just in: German scientists tested the effectiveness of traditional acupuncture, fake acupuncture, and good old drugs & physical therapy. Turns out that the half-assed acupuncture was almost as good as the proper Chinese acupuncture at relieving pain, so you can save a bundle by letting your hippie sister-in-law who works at the health food store practice on you. And either one was better than the control group getting the drugs and therapy bit. (You should humor the good doctor anyway.)
